Rick Ley's writing career got off to a bumpy start. His first novel, Escape from Serfdom, published in 2014, received a number of five-star reviews. However, not long after it was on the market, the publisher went out of business. The novel was pulled from Amazon and sales stopped.
Now, ten years later, he has released nine novels and his film, FATE, is in pre-production.
The first series of five novels, titled, : The Ship of State® Books One through Five, are an updated and expanded version of his original novel. These political novels follow a young president, a political novice, who lacks the support of his own party and the entire political establishment as he tries to navigate the shark-infested waters of Washington DC and he finds out that sharks' bite. If you enjoyed the movie, The American President or the hit TV show, The West Wing, you'll love The Ship of State®.
In addition, the novel, FATE, has been released, and that story has also been converted into a screenplay, which is currently in pre-production and will primarily be filmed in Pittsburgh in the near future.
Another series of three novels titled Love My MB has been released, and a story called Gimpy & Dr. B is currently in development. They round out the trove of novels by Richard P. Ley. All nine of the current novels are available on Amazon in paperback, an eBook and as an audiobook.
