Artist reception

The Sewickley Public Library is hosting an artist reception showcasing the work of Johno Prascak on Thursday, May 16 from 7-9 p.m. The eight canvas paintings currently on display at the library depict the iconic Carnegie Steel Homestead Mill Works.

Johno Prascak is a Munhall-born artist whose unique work has been featured at the National Aviary, PNC Park and many other Pittsburgh locales. All are invited to the reception to meet the artist, learn about what inspired the piece, and discover the key locally sourced ingredient he used to create it.

The reception will include an exploration of Pittsburgh steel history and heritage with Ron Baraff and Susie Mulkeen from Rivers of Steel.

The program takes place in the first floor library Reference Room and includes light refreshments. Register online for this event at sewickleylibrary.org or by calling 412-741-6920.
