BRENTWOOD, Pa.; May 7, 2026 — The Brentwood Borough High School Softball team has learned its seed and opponent for the 2026 WPIAL 2A Softball Tournament.
Coach Joey Leuch’s squad is the No. 10 seed and will meet No. 7 seed Riverside on Thursday, May 14. The contest will be held at West Mifflin Area HS with a 5 p.m. start. The winner advances to a quarterfinal matchup against the winner of the Chartiers-Houston vs Washington game on Monday, May 18. There are 16 teams in the WPIAL 2A bracket.
The Spartans are 8-6 overall and were 7-3 in Class 2A, Section 2, good for a second-place tie with Apollo-Ridge. Riverside finished in fourth place in 2A, Section 1 and has an 8-5 record (8-4 in Section).
Tickets for Brentwood’s WPIAL Softball playoff contests are $7 (adults) and $5 (students) and can be purchased in advance at www.gofan.co/WPIAL. All tickets are $7 at the gate. The WPIAL 2A Softball Tournament championship game will be played May 27 or May 28 at PennWest University California’s Lilley Field.
