The American Cancer Society is excited to host the annual Coaches vs Cancer Tipoff Reception at Pittsburgh’s PPG Wintergarden on Tuesday, September 9. The General Reception begins at 5:30 p.m., with the speaking program starting at 7:05.
Former NFL Defensive End and Pitt Basketball Player Sam Clancy is this year’s Champion of Hope Speaker and Fighting Spirit Honoree. The men’s and women’s basketball coaches from Pitt, Duquesne, and RMU will also be on-hand. Darren Zaslau, WPGH Fox 53 and WPNT 22 The Point!, and Andrew Fillipponi and Paul Alexander, both from 93.7 The Fan, will serve as hosts for various parts of the event.
Games, photo opportunities, a silent auction, and powerful stories of determination and hope will all be a part of this year’s event. All money raised will support the American Cancer Society’s effort to end cancer as we know it, for everyone, through cancer research, services and awareness, and cancer prevention efforts.
