No-Cook Tuesdays start

The season’s first No-Cook Tuesday is from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 1 in the Bethel Park Community Center parking lot.

Bethel Park recreation will continue the weekly event, featuring food trucks, through Nov. 19.

Help shape plan for transportation

Bethel Park has received a grant through the WalkWorks Program to develop an active transportation plan over the next nine months, and input from residents is appreciated.

The plan will be a strategic road map meant to create safer, more accessible interconnected networks for non-motorized travel for activities such as walking, running, bicycling and using wheelchairs.

To learn more and take a survey to offer your input, visit www.bethelparkpa.gov/community/active-transportation. An interactive map is available to indicate preferred locations for better sidewalks, bike lanes and improved accessibility.

Bethel Art Guild meets

The Bethel Art Guild’s guest speaker for the Oct. 3 meeting is Marlene Boas, primarily a self-taught artist with no formal education who considers making art a “contemplative practice.”

A past president of the Pittsburgh Society of Artists, she has had her work exhibited in numerous venues throughout Western Pennsylvania and Ohio.

The meeting starts at 12:30 p.m. at the Bethel Park Community Center, 5151 Park Ave. Refreshments and networking are followed by a business meeting and the speaker.
