Mary Lynn (Oesterling) Long, 67, of Westmoreland City, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at home. She was born Jan. 23, 1957, in Penn, a daughter of the late Ellsworth and Dorothy Kennedy Oesterling. Mary was a baker for Giant Eagle, Eastgate, North Huntingdon and New Kensington. She was a member of the American Legion Post 472, in Manor, and the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union-AFL-CIO-CLC. Mary enjoyed spending time at the family camp in Tionesta. She also enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. She was an avid baker, not only at work, but also making cakes for her family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and her beloved canine companion, Windsor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Silvis and Margaret Seice; a brother, Raymond Oesterling; and her brother-in-law, Robert Long. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 49 years, Michael K. Long; two children, Michelle Joyce (Chris), of Penn Township, and Michael Long (Alyssa), of Westmoreland City; seven grandchildren, Rileah and Reese Sweitzer, June, Elsa and MiaBella Long and Ashton and Gio; sister, Betty Jo McGarry, of Westmoreland City; three brothers-in-law, Joel Long, of Hempfield Township, Wade Long (Joyce) and Todd Long (Cathy), all of Westmoreland City; and several nieces and nephews.
