Cora 'Sue' Fratto, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on the late afternoon of September 11, 2024, at Scottdale Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Scottdale, Pennsylvania, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 13, 1942, in Melcroft, the daughter of the late Ernest and Isabell Satcho Shaffer. Sue was a spirited soul who brought joy and warmth to all who knew her. Sue was a longtime and faithful member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale. Sue's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her work. For over 25 years, she served with a smile in the cafeteria of the Southmoreland School District, where her kindness touched the lives of countless students and staff. Her love for her family, especially her grandchildren, was unparalleled. She is survived by her loving children, Mark A. Fratto and his wife, Amy, of Melcroft, and Lisa Fratto Romesberg and her husband, Barry of Everson. Sue's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Ashlyn Fratto and her fiance, Erika Bacha; Alyssa Fratto, all of Erie, Adam Romesberg, Tyler Romesberg of Rockwood, and Harvey Romesberg and his wife, Felicia of Somerset. Her great-grandson, C.J. Romesberg, of Somerset. Beyond her human family, Sue's tender care extended to her canine companion, Baby, who was a source of comfort and friendship through her golden years. Sue was a collector of joy, treasuring her collections of angels and snowmen, which reflected her love for the simple beauties of life. Each piece in her collection had a story, a memory, and a special place in her heart. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by, her beloved husband, Antonio "Tony" Fratto, who preceded her in death on March 17, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Elmer "Sonny" Shaffer, whose memory she held close to her heart. Parting Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2024, in the Funeral Home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R. C, Church, Scottdale with Fr. John Torres as Celebrant. Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. John Parish Cemetery. The funeral home doors will be locked between visiting hours.
