Robert E. Logan, 79, of United, passed away with his loving family by his side Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. Bob was born Jan. 14, 1945, the son of the late James and Nellie Dayton Logan. Bob was a1962 graduate of Hurst High School. After graduating, he was drafted in the Army and served during the Vietnam War. After receiving his honorable discharge, he attended the California Teachers College, now Penn West. Bob was a member of St. Florian Roman Catholic Church. He was employed by Volkswagen, New Stanton, and then worked at Overly Manufacturing, Greensburg, eventually retiring. He was a longtime member of the United Club, where he participated on the club softball team and golf league. He was an avid Mt. Pleasant Viking, Pitt Panther, Steelers and Pirates fan. Bob also enjoyed his beach vacations to Ocean City and the Outer Banks, but loved most of all watching his grandson's soccer and baseball games. Surviving is his wife, Nancy Tracy Logan, who with he would have celebrated his 45th anniversary in October of 2024; a daughter, Courtney Bender (Jeff); grandson, Logan Bender; siblings, Jim Logan (Ann) Ardie Shay and Connie Kozmachak (Joe); brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis Tracy (Vicky), Dan Tracy (Doreen), Noreen Tracy and David Tracy (Lori); also numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, at SLATER-REGA FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 730 W Main St., Mt. Pleasant, where parting prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Florian Roman Catholic Church, United. Interment will follow in St. Florian Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be held at 7:45 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
