Patricia Cummings, beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Lita) and teacher, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family and loved ones, Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, at the age of 77. For 30 years, she shared her passion for the Spanish language with students at Hempfield Area High School, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives. Even after retiring, Pat's dedication to teaching persisted, as she generously imparted her knowledge to retirees in The Villages, Fla., her home away from home. Pat was a voracious reader and took great pride in maintaining an immaculate household. She enjoyed various hobbies, from crocheting to jazzercise. Pat's legacy of kindness was not confined to her professional life; she led by example in her personal relationships as well. She instilled in her children and grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as "Lita," the value of extending kindness to everyone they encountered. Pat radiated joy in every aspect of her life. Her warm personality, unwavering kindness and generosity touched the hearts of all who knew her. Whether lending a helping hand or simply sharing a smile, Pat could spread happiness wherever she went. Pat was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth Hillen; and siblings, Robert James Hillen, Dennis Hillen and June Campbell. She is survived by her loving husband, Vincent; her children, Ryan (Erin) Cummings, Shane (Nadine) Cummings and Erin (Aaron) Simonds; her cherished grandchildren, Meghan, Daniel, Declan, Xavier, Finnly and Nathaniel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
