Eleanor A. (Lazur) Smith, 85, of Latrobe, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Loyalhanna Senior Suites. Born June 23, 1938 in Latrobe, she was a daughter of the late Steve and Anna (Brody) Lazur. Eleanor was a member of St. Marys Byzantine Catholic Church, Bradenville. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Latronics. She was a member of AARP, and she enjoyed traveling, especially cruises and bus trips. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin M. Smith; and a brother, Richard Lazur.Eleanor is survived by her husband, Girard V. Sam Smith, of Latrobe; two sons, David P. Smith, and his wife Melissa, of Latrobe, and Todd V. Smith, and his wife Jackie, of Georgia; one brother, Stephen J. Lazur, and his wife Carol, of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Millie Dunlap, and her husband Denis, of Irwin; five grandchildren, Nick Smith (Crystal), Michaela McKendrick (Dylan), Samantha Smith, Alexis Nasser (Josh), and Nathan Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Lucas, McKinley, Delilah, Phoenix, Dylan Jr., Chelsie, and Travis; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. A Panachida service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Private interment will be at St. Marys Byzantine Cemetery, Bradenville.
