Dale T. Branzet, 87, of Lower Burrell, formerly of Springdale, passed away July 30, 2024, in Presbyterian Senior Care, Oakmont. He was born Sept. 5, 1936, to his parents, the late Ted and Emma Kastl Branzet, and has been a longtime resident of the Valley. Mr. Branzet graduated from Springdale High School and later worked for Westinghouse, where he traveled to Korea, Japan, and the Philippines before retiring. He played on the Westinghouse Softball team in the Industrial League and won three state championships and finished in the top ten in two world championships, as well as the MVP in the first state championship. Dale was an avid golfer and past president of Hillcrest Country Club. He belonged to St. Margaret Mary Church, in Lower Burrell, where he was a eucharistic minister, usher and funeral assistant. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fay Gensbigler Branzet; and four wire-haired terriers, all named Snoopy. Surviving him are sisters-in-law, Connie (Chuck) Markle, Kay McGregor, and Debbie Roskey; nieces, Kellie (Jim) Newcomb, Jodi (Mark) McGreger, and Jami (Tim) McGreger; and nephews, Kent (Janelle) Markle and Steven (Genna) Roskey. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024, in THE CHARLES B.
