Robert L. Harr, 81, of Latrobe, passed peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, at Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital. Robert was born on April 10, 1943, in Cook Township, to the late Ruth (Lenhart) Harr Myers and Russell F. Harr, Sr. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Vietnam War. He also served as chaplain for the Unity Township American Legion Post 982 for 25 years. Above all, he was a family man, and his greatest pride in life was his family. He loved fishing, hunting, and hanging out with his friends at the VFW. He was a beloved father, husband, brother, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Russell Harr; and two brothers, Clifford and Vernon Harr, Sr. Robert is survived by his wife of 44 years, Denise (Fuggenthaler) Harr of Latrobe; one daughter, Marie Harr of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Makayla, Ariana, and Amara; three brothers, George Harr, and his wife, Sherri, of Louisville, KY, Russell Harr, and his wife, Della, of Latrobe, and Clark Harr, and his wife, Patricia, of Latrobe; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff in the ICU at Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital for their wonderful care and kindness. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, at Hope Evangelical Methodist Church, Youngstown, with the Rev. William Lueke officiating. Interment will follow at St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Youngstown, with graveside military services accorded by the VFW Post 33, Greensburg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Legion Post 982, 158 American Legion Road, Latrobe, PA 15650.
