Alfred P. "Sonny" Tofani, Jr., 79, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2024, in the Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, PA. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Born on May 4, 1945, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of the late Alfred, Sr., and Ruby Jordan Tofani. Sonny was a man whose vibrant personality and selfless love left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. Sonny was the cherished husband of Cathy A. Lind Tofani of New Stanton, with whom he shared 39 years of unwavering love since their marriage on Nov. 1, 1985. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and an abundance of cherished memories. He was a devoted father to Jacquelyn Britton and her husband Jacob of Canonsburg, Phillip Tofani and his fiance Kayla Zundel of Rostraver Twp., Sonya Rae Connors, and Vicky Lynn Tofani; his grandchildren, Piper and Zachary Britton, Levi and Maci Brown, and Alec, Michael, Lexi Rae, and Arianna Connors. His siblings, Rita Keros of Wappenger Falls, NY and Mike Jordan of Mt. Pleasant, who will fondly remember him as a man whose laughter could light up a room. Sonny was a proud graduate of the Southmoreland High School, class of 1963. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to cosmetology school, after which he became the owner of two successful hair salons in Connellsville and Uniontown. His professional journey continued as he assumed the role of supervisor at Volkswagen, where he dedicated ten years before moving on to a similar position at Schonemans. Even in retirement, Sonny's work ethic and desire to connect with his community persisted, leading him to enjoy a fulfilling time at the New Stanton Pharmacy. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sandy R. Stohl; and brother-in-law, George Keros; all of whom he held dear throughout his life. Sonny was a man whose personality was as big as his heart. He was loving, funny, and selfless. Sonny's laughter was infectious, his stories captivating, and his generosity boundless. 'No man loved his wife and his family like Sonny did.' Al's family will greet friends from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME, INC., 417 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, PA 15683.
