2 found dead in Butler County fire

Two people were found dead Monday in a Butler County home that had caught on fire, according to state police.

The blaze was reported on Old Route 68 in Forward Township around 5:30 p.m. Troopers are investigating the fire.

Police had not released the identities of those two people. No information had been released about what caused the blaze.


2 women injured in McKeesport assault

Two women were hurt in an assault and shooting Sunday evening in McKeesport, according to Allegheny County Police.

First responders were called to the Harrison Village housing complex around 8:15 p.m. Both women were taken to a hospital.

One woman was listed in critical condition with blunt force injuries, police said. The other woman had two gunshot wounds to the upper torso. She was listed in stable condition.

Police did not say what led to the incident or if anyone would be facing charges.


Crowds line up for Ross Park Mall’s Disney store

The new Disney Store Limited Time at Ross Park Mall saw crowds over the Memorial Day weekend after it opened, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.

The store, which sells Disney merchandise, started booking time slots to enter after lines snaked through the mall and outside, the news outlet reported. It opened Saturday and is expected to be at the mall through the end of 2026, according to Ross Park Mall.


1st direct flight from Ireland lands in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh International Airport on Monday celebrated the start of direct service through Aer Lingus to Dublin, Ireland.

The first flight touched down at Pittsburgh International at 6:40 p.m. with Aer Lingus pilots waving Terrible Towels out the cockpit windows as the aircraft came to a stop, according to the airport.

The flight will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays year-round with an expected pause in January and February.
