Alco Parking announced that it will refund people who purchased parking spots for Saturday’s Morgan Wallen concert, which was canceled over a threat of severe weather that never materialized on the North Shore.
Refunds should appear on people’s accounts within 14 to 21 days, Alco said in a social media post. No action is needed to receive the refund.
If a pass was transferred, the refund will go to the original buyer.
Wallen received backlash from fans who criticized his cancellation given that strong storms steered clear of the North Shore, where he was expected to perform. However, the National Weather Service reported six tornadoes swept across Washington, Fayette and Westmoreland counties Saturday.
Wallen, in a social media post responding to the outrage, said he “did the best I could with the information I had in that moment” when he decided to scrap Saturday’s show.
