A Pittsburgh man whose body was found in a Pittsburgh garage amid what initially were deemed suspicious circumstances died from multiple blast injuries, authorities said Tuesday.
Harold Bauer’s death was ruled accidental by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Bauer, 68, was found unresponsive Sunday shortly after 7 p.m. in a Bloomfield garage in the 5000 block of Comrie Way.
Bauer was working in his combined garage and workshop when there was an accidental explosion, according to Cara Cruz, a Pittsburgh police spokeswoman.
Cruz said fire investigators were still working on determining what caused the blast.
Officers first reported finding a man with “apparent traumatic injuries” at the scene.
Pittsburgh Violent Crime Unit detectives had been investigating.
