A man was killed Sunday evening in a crash in Pittsburgh’s Brookline neighborhood.
First responders were called to the 500 block of Brookline Boulevard around 6:45 p.m. for a wreck involving an SUV and a motorcycle.
The motorcycle driver was found in the road with significant injuries and taken to a hospital, where he was declared dead, public safety officials said.
The man was identified as Michael Rooney, 35.
Based on an initial investigation, public safety officials said the SUV was trying to make a left turn out of a business when the motorcycle struck the vehicle on the driver’s side.
The SUV’s driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers, public safety officials said. An investigation is ongoing, but officials said no criminal charges are expected.
