Mary C. Dauer, 95, of Tarentum, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sept. 14, 2024. She was born Feb. 2, 1929, in Tarentum, to the late Michael and Mary (Pollock) Bodnar. Mary spent her entire life in Tarentum, where she was very involved in her church community. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Natrona Heights, was a member of the former Holy Martyrs Church in Tarentum, and was the past president of the Holy Martyrs Christian Mothers. Mary worked for a number of years at numerous local grocery stores, including A and P and Acme, and was an escort for Thomas Tours well into her 90s. She was an extremely generous person with a strong personality. Mary loved dressing up and would never be seen in a t-shirt, and in her free time she enjoyed going to casinos. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. Survivors include her husband of 76 years, Raymond F. Dauer of Tarentum; her son, Raymond M. (Donna M.) Dauer of Lower Burrell; her daughter, Lynn M. (Guy Benjamin) Buccigrossi of Lower Burrell; granddaughter, Kristen M. (Colby) Lowry of Gilpin Township; grandson, Michael R. Dauer of Lower Burrell; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Bodnar. A Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, at Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Campus, Natrona Heights.
