Shirley E. Mackey, 88, of Mount Pleasant, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, at the Harmon House, Mount Pleasant. Shirley was born Aug. 8, 1936, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of the late Robert H. and Mary Ann Czarniak Rodgers. Shirley was a graduate of Hurst High School and a member of the Transfiguration of Our Lord Parish, Mount Pleasant. Surviving are her sons, Wendell Rupp, Jr., Melvin Rupp (Rose), and Dale Rupp (Ken Collier, Jr.); granddaughter, Jennifer Rupp Larson (Justin); great- grandsons, Luke and Logan Larson; and sisters-in-law, Carol and Lois Rodgers. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Ken Mackey; great -granddaughter, Mia Larson; and brothers, John, Bob, and William Rodgers. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, at SLATER-REGA FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 730 W. Main St., Mount Pleasant, where services will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024. Interment will follow in the Middle Presbyterian Cemetery.
