Suzanne (Wylie) McPherson December 18, 1936 - April 12, 2024. Suzanne McPherson, age 87, of Murrysville, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, after a long-fought battle with breast cancer. Sue was born and raised in Osborne, PA; and has lived in Monroeville, Plum, Albion, MI, Louisville, KY, Tripoli, Libya, Charleroi, and, most recently, at Redstone Highlands in Murrysville since 2015. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Richard C. McPherson, Jr.; and her parents, David and Ida Wylie. Sue was the loving and devoted mother to Scott (Jill) McPherson of Greeley, CO and Amy Senchur of Plum; cherished grandmother of Tyler (Christy) McPherson of Greeley, CO, Cameron (Taryn) McPherson of Colorado Springs, CO, and Randi Sue (Sam) Uhler of Pittsburgh; proud great-grandmother to Macie Fae McPherson, Ellie Sue McPherson, and baby boy McPherson on the way; sister to Louise (Tom) Johns of South Carolina and Joyce Detwiler of Virginia; several nieces, nephews, and many special friends who she considered family. Sue was a 1954 graduate of Sewickley High School and attended Ohio Wesleyan University. She was employed by First Federal Savings & Loan in Pittsburgh and as a kindergarten teacher for three years in Tripoli, Libya when her husband served in the U.S. Air Force. She was active in many community organizations, including the Murrysville AAUW Chapter's reading and bridge groups, Big Deals Stock Club, a member of Edgewood Country Club, and was a devoted volunteer at the Murrysville Library for many years. She was a member of the Holiday Park United Methodist Church. Sue will be remembered for her outgoing personality, enthusiasm, love of animals, and infectious smile.
