Allegheny Health Network is adding services to its primary care clinic in Downtown Pittsburgh.
The Express Care services at its clinic on Penn Avenue are available for minor health conditions such as cold, flu and covid-19 symptoms; rashes and infections; and other afflictions. Testing also is available for covid, flu, RSV and strep throat in less than one hour, according to AHN.
The clinic first opened in 2018 on the first floor of Highmark’s Penn Avenue Place.
It opened to provide primary care services such as preventive exams, acute care for common illnesses, chronic disease management, X-ray imaging and other services. Highmark is the parent company of Allegheny Health Network.
“The integration of primary and express care services provides patients with convenient, timely access to care, as well as improved care coordination among providers,” said Dr. Amy Crawford-Faucher, vice chair of the AHN Primary Care Institute.
“As a critical health resource in the Golden Triangle, we are pleased to expand the services at AHN Downtown to more rapidly meet the health needs of those who live and work in the area,” Crawford-Faucher said in a statement announcing the expansion.
