Francis 'Frank' Rutkowsky, Sr., 96, of Jeannette, passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, in the Hempfield Manor, Greensburg. He was born May 10, 1928, in Jeannette, a son of the late Stephen and Mathilda Byerly Stokes Rutkowsky. Prior to his retirement, Frank was employed by the former American St. Gobain Glass Co. in Jeannette. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. Frank was a former member of the Sacred Heart Church in Jeannette and the St. Barbara Church in Harrison City. He was a member of the American Legion Post #344 in Jeannette, the Gold Wing Club, and the Jeannette Auxiliary Police. Frank loved riding his motorcycles from his teen years until he was 85. He enjoyed landscaping, masonry work, gardening, canvas painting, a coin enthusiast, and was proud of his military service. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Una Cianciotto Rutkowsky; a daughter, Una T. Rutkowsky; brothers, Paul, Richard and William Rutkowsky; sisters, Veronica Surrec, Rita Lomicka, Alice Sowa; and an infant sister, Elvira Stokes. He is survived by his children, Stephen Rutkowsky (Elaine), of Parma OH, Diane Baker (George), of Penn, Debra Topinka (Joseph), of Bedford, Frank Rutkowsky (Joyce), of Mt. Pleasant, and Michael Rutkowsky (Natalie), of Fairview, PA; grandchildren, Duanne Rutkowsky (Amber), Chris Rutkowsky (Latausha), Michael Baker (Nicole), Levi Baker, Jude Williams Leigh Anne), Tessie Williams (Edward), Justin Williams, Jessica Powell (Ryan), Julia Yeager (Mike), Frankie Rutkowsky (Shawnaa), Brian Egnatz (Christie), Stephanie Mann (Lucas), and Alicia Veliz (Gabriel); 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 North 2nd St., Jeannette. A funeral liturgy will take place at 12 p.m., Wednesday, in the funeral home with Fr. Job Foote, OSB, presiding. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
