Lori J. Korponay, age 65, of Gibsonia, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday July 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving husband and daughter. Lori was born in Tarentum to Frank Prazenica and Sylvia (Sieja) Prazenica on Aug. 2, 1958. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Robert (Bob) Korponay; daughter, Amanda (Mandy) Korponay; sisters-in-law, Rose Pawloski (Tony) and Janet Brooks; and several nephews. Lori was an avid sports fan and loved following the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. She also was an advocate for animal rights and a lifetime member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Lori loved to cook and, most of all, be with her beloved husband and daughter. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024 and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, at St. Richard Church, location of Sts. Martha and Mary Parish. Interment will follow in Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at St. Catherine's Church of Sts. Martha and Mary Parish. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to www.aspca.org.
