Barbara J. Petro, 81, of North Huntingdon, passed peacefully away at home on Thursday July 4, 2024. She was the daughter of the late James and Harriet Wright Roycroft. Barbara was a member of Circleville U.M. Church, where she taught Sunday school and was the leader, along with her husband, George of the youth group for many years. Barbara was also a Girl Scout leader for her daughter's troops. She also volunteered for the Westmoreland County Food Bank. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, George; her daughters, Deborah Altman (Kirk), Sandra Gillon (Frank) and Susan Vargo (Ray); eight grandchildren, Crystal Smith (Greg), Andrew Hayden (Erica), KJ Altman (Darcy), Kevin Altman, Jonathan Vargo (Angela), Emily Vargo, Nathan Gillon, Jessica Philabauem (Jake); and ten great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024, at JAMES W. SHIRLEY FUNERAL HOME, 176 Clay Pike. A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in the funeral home chapel.
