James F. Crosson III, 76, of Irwin, passed away on Sunday April 7, 2024. He was born June 3, 1947, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Beverly Leslie. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine V. Stankewich; and his daughter, Laurie Crosson. James was a member of Irwin First Assembly of God Church, and was a proud Marine Corps veteran who served in the Vietnam War, being the recipient of three Purple Hearts. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Penguins, Steelers, and Pirates. He is survived by his son, James F. (Jennifer) Crosson of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Devin Crosson, Seth (Sarah) Crosson, Brooke (Kyle) Wertz, Derrick Gradischeck; great-grandson, Bentley Crosson; sisters and brothers, Carol Kessler, Candy Chickenella, Andrew Quciker, and Bill Quicker; and also nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, with Pastor Cindy Ludlow officiating. Interment and military honors will be held at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
