Lorraine (Paden) Yanosky, 87, of Yukon, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Westmoreland Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 18, 1936, in Larimer, PA. Daughter of the late James and Edith (Woleslagle) Paden. She attended the former Sewickley Township High School. Lorraine worked and retired from Denny's as a waitress after many years of service. She also worked at Howard Johnson's as a waitress and later became their bookkeeper. She was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Yukon, PA, for 45 years. She was a member and secretary/treasurer of the Confraternity of the Christian Mothers, as well as a choir member for 30 years. As a child, Lorraine loved to sing and roller-skate at the roller rink in Herminie, PA, where she met her husband, Arnold. She enjoyed polka dancing with her husband at the local festivals, Christmas dinners and holiday parties. She liked to cook, can vegetables from the garden and work on crossword puzzles. She enjoyed all genres of music. She had a beautiful voice. She enjoyed telling the story as a teenager singing in her room and a peddler walking by heard her and came to the front door to find out who was singing because he said she had an amazing voice. She dearly loved her grandchildren, Hannah and Jared. She babysat Jared for many years and loved playing ball and having picnics with him in the backyard. She collected angel figurines and always had an angel pin on her clothing. She was a big jokester and enjoyed making others laugh. She is preceded in death by both parents; husband, Arnold T. 'Arnie' Yanosky and loving companions, Ginger, Muffin and Izzy. She is survived by daughters, Deborah 'Deb' Ann (Bob) Theis of Mt. Pleasant, PA and Kim J. (John) Bruno of Yukon, PA; grandchildren, Jared (Laura) Bruno of Ligonier, PA, and Hannah (Matthew) Morrone of Irwin, PA; great-grandson, Luke; and sisters, Elizabeth 'Betty' Paden of Phoenix, AZ, and Marian Arnold of Coraopolis, PA. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the BEATTY-RICH FUNERAL HOME, INC., Rt. 136 Madison, PA, Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. A rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church, 102 Center St., Yukon, PA 15698, with Fr. David Nazimec officiating. Those wishing to attend the Funeral Mass for Lorraine are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow at the Westmoreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensburg, PA.
