Janet E. (Corso) Carter, 85, of Hutchinson, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, June 28, 2024, in Marietta, OH. Born July 4, 1938, in Yukon, she was the daughter of late Albino and Elizabeth Corso. In 1956, she graduated from Sewickley High School and was a majorette. With her CDL license, she retired as a shuttle bus driver from Filbern Manor in West Newton. Born on the 4th of July, she always said, "Everyone celebrates my birthday," and truly was a firecracker. Full of life and a burst of energy, she radiated to those who knew her and to those who did not. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H Carter; brother, Albert Corso; sisters, Helen Vuksta, Mildred Kuszaj, Dolores Achtzehn; and grandson, Lou Muro. Surviving are seven children, Sherry Hill of Marietta, Donna Getchey and husband, Joseph "Buddy" of Hutchinson, Cindy DeNunzio and husband, Jeff of Herminie, Donald "Duck" Smouse and wife, Brenda of Lowber, William "Billy" Carter Jr. of Monroe, NC, Kim Raviart and husband, Scott of Jeannette, and Billy Joe "Bear" Carter of Monessen. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She attended St. Edward's Catholic Church in Herminie and St. Mary's in Marietta. Private services will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024. In remembrance of Janet's life, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
