Marguerite A. (Ireland) Johnson, 98, of Crooked Creek, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, in her daughter Judy's home, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 12, 1925, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Clinton Ireland and Camilla (Sherpherdson) Ireland. Marguerite was a graduate of Bradford High School, and proud homemaker, raising five children. She worked at department stores, a greenhouse, a tax company, and her daughter's business over the years. Marguerite was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star in Penn Hills. She loved gardening, golfing, traveling, and working on jigsaw puzzles. Marguerite loved birdwatching and feeding birds. She most loved being with and taking care of her family. In addition to her parents, Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy W. Johnson, who passed away in 1999; daughter, Barbara Jean Johnson, who passed away on April 20, 2020; daughters-in-law, Lori Johnson and Nancy Johnson; and her brother and sister-in-law, George and Julia Ireland. Marguerite is survived by her children, Ronald L. (Sandi) Johnson, of Jeannette, Judy C. (Mark) Schultheis, of Kittanning, David M. Johnson, of King William, Va., Tom A. (Maria) Johnson Sr., of Parks Township; grandchildren, Eric Johnson, Karl Johnson, Greg (Buffy) Johnson, Chris (Jenni) Schultheis, Jenn McClish, Rich (Cassie) Schultheis, Tommy (Miranda) Johnson, Jr., Matt (Amy) Johnson, Timmy (Casey) Johnson and Billy (Kate) Johnson; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, including special niece Jackie Ireland; and her special friends, Kay and Mia. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Lutheran SeniorLife VNA Hospice, especially Mindy and Sara, for their support during Marguerite's final days. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the Celebration of Life tribute service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024. Please join the family as they honor Marguerite's life.
