Norma Ann (Fiene) Carter, 88, of Greensburg, formerly of Salem Township, died on Sunday, May 12, 2024. She was born on Sept. 28, 1935, in McClelland, IA, a daughter of the late Harry Raymond Fiene and Margaret Fayne (Smith) Fiene Riddell. Norma is survived by her two sons, Michael D. Carter of Greensburg and David S. Carter of Harrison City; a grandson, Colton Brice Carter; two sisters, Rita (Peter) Reed of Des Moines, IA and Ruth Hanon of Tucson, AZ; a brother, John (Nancy) Fiene of Omaha, NE; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Richard Earl Carter; and two brothers, Donald and Keith Fiene. Norma was a longtime member of Faith Global Methodist Church in Delmont. She was a volunteer, and former secretary and committee person, of the Westmoreland County Republican Committee, prior to working for the Westmoreland County Board of Commissioners office, where she retired after many years of service. Norma supported many causes, such as the Westmoreland Food Bank, SPCA, Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and was a strong advocate for Al-Anon, encouraging others to seek help when needed. Norma was also an avid ice-skating enthusiast, having taught skating at Kirk S. Nevin Arena in Greensburg and being involved in Special Olympics. Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of memoriam service at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at BASH-NIED-JOBE FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont (724-468-8381).
