Dennis C. 'Denny' Smith, 71, of Allegheny Township, died May 12th, 2024. He was born Feb. 16th, 1953, in Harrison Township. He was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Vucetic) Smith. He graduated in 1971 from Deer Lakes High School and attended Edinboro University. He retired from Port Authority Transit, was a previous co-owner of Massart's Restaurant, and worked part time for AHN. At home, Denny could be found doing yard work while listening to oldies love songs or reading from his vast book collection. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Paulette (Kengor) Smith; his two sons, Aaron (Tiffany) Smith of Butler, PA, and Jerod (Brittany) Smith of Irwin, PA; grandkids, Austin, Owen, Libby, Brielle, and Cassidy; brother, William Smith of Dallas, TX; nephew, Josh Smith (Lauren) of Chicago, IL.; niece, Lori (Jason) Claybrook of Dallas, TX. Denny also had an extended family of neighbors. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Smith of Harrison Township. Friends are invited to attend a Christian Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Margaret Mary Church, 3055 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, 15068.
