William "Bill" T. Harrison went home to be with his Savior Oct. 1 at the Canterbury Hospice Center in Lawrenceville. Bill Harrison was born March, 12, 1938 in North Irwin. He graduated from Irwin High School in 1956. He went on to earn a degree in Psychology from Tarkio College in Tarkio, MO. Bill married Janice Walker in 1961 and they had two children, Kristie and Brad. After graduation, Bill returned to the Irwin area where he began a long career in car sales. He worked for Ted McWilliams, Hamilton Buick, Cavalier Coach, and finished his automotive career by working with his son at Harrison Auto Sales. After retiring from the car business, he was employed by Snyder Funeral Services. Bill was an active member of the Irwin Volunteer Fire Department for 60 years. Bill was a man of faith and attended the Calvary Baptist Church, the McKeesport Gospel Hall, and Friendship Baptist church during his lifetime. Bill enjoyed boating, his favorite place to boat was Thousand Islands region of NY. He enjoyed going to NASCAR races and worked at the Daytona International Speedway while spending winters in Florida. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Lucille (McClowry) Harrison, sister Joann (Harrison) Eichelberger, and brother-in-law Jack Eichelberger. He is survived by his wife Janice (Walker) Harrison, daughter Kristie (Kluiter) and son-in-law Keith of West Hempfield, son Brad and daughter-in-law (Jodi) of N. Huntingdon. Granddaughter Olivia (Kluiter) Vergara and husband Nick from East Nashville, TN. Grandson Nathan Kluiter and wife Sharon from Chesapeake, VA. Granddaughter Sierra (Kluiter) Walker and husband Nathan from Aurora, Ontario, CA. Granddaughter Jordan Harrison and fiance Giovanni Scolieri from N. Huntingdon. Great-grandchildren Ava, Adam, and Greta Kluiter of Chesapeake, VA. Nephew Bill Eichelberger from Salisbury, NC, and Rob (Kathy) Eichelberger from Weldon Springs, MO. Any monetary donations may be made to the Irwin Volunteer Fire Department. Friends and Family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200.
