Brad Douglas Slater, 41, of Eden, MD, formerly of Youngwood, passed away unexpectedly on April 25, 2024, at the Tidal Health Regional Hospital of heart failure. He was born June 24, 1982, in Latrobe, PA, and was the son of Rose C. Slater and the late Douglas Keith Slater. Brad grew up in Greensburg and attended Greater Latrobe High School, where he graduated in 2001. Brad moved to Maryland to be near the ocean. Both he and his wife loved to go fishing and crabbing. He called it his happy place. Brad loved to make people laugh and his smile would light up the whole room. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone. He worked 12 years for UPS and then left for Sam's Club. He loved his job at Sam's Club, and the customers and his management loved him too. He loved his family and God. His love for animals was unconditional, and his best friend, Maximus, never left his side. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Angela Slater; his stepsons, Jazz and Jessie Brown; mother, Rose Slater; brother, Ryan Slater (Nicole); niece, Sophie Slater; grandmother, Marlene Slater; aunt and uncle, Vickie and Roger Lynch; Nathan Clayton, who was like a big brother to him; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his Grandma Cincotto and Grandpap Slater. A memorial service will be held in his memory on June 23 with time and location to be announced at a later date. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
