John "Jack" A. Kostelnik, Jr., 84, of Greensburg, died Friday, May 24, 2024, in his home. He was born April 20, 1940, in Greensburg, a son of the late John A. Kostelnik, Sr. and Mary Yurko Kostelnik. Jack was employed for over 40 years, as a retail merchandise buyer in Greensburg, Pittsburgh, New York, and Los Angeles; and purchased clothing lines for Troutman's, Hornes, Macy's, Allied Corporation, Kohl's, and Target. His career allowed him to travel to 40 different countries. As a U.S. Army Veteran, Jack served as an MP in Stuttgart, Germany, in the mid-1960s. He was Catholic by faith and attended the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Chesnick; brothers-in-law, Victor Rabbits, Edward Sloniger, Cornelius Nolan, and Barry Sloniger. He was also preceded in death by great-nephews, Jerry Fagert II and John Quinn; and great-niece, Kara Sloniger. His family includes six siblings, Canice Rabbits, Mary Elizabeth Sloniger, Bernadette Nolan, Helenita Skiavo (John), Andrea Sloniger, Robert Kostelnik (Annette); brother-in-law, Larry Chesnick. Jack is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews of whom he was very proud: Shelley Fagert and Vic Rabbits, Dave, Steve and Tom Skiavo, Mark Sloniger, Greg Sloniger and Julie Earl, Bryan Chesnick and Christy Katz, Leah Lamonte and John Kostelnik; he is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, an uncle and aunts. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Jack, Thursday, in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 409 W.
