John David King, 71, of Mount Pleasant, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. John was a 1971 graduate of Southmoreland High School and earned his bachelor degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He was formerly employed by Twin Trees Inc. Connellsville as the CEO providing residential care to persons with intellectual disabilities. He loved his job by utilizing his communication skills with his residents to provide a caring environment. Always the jokester, he loved to make people laugh and he was the talented drummer for the band, Cabin Fear, he formerly held a membership in the Connellsville Elks and was a huge Steeler fan. John loved his family, Jamie, his wife of 34 years, his son and best buddy, Jack; and his loving daughter, Julie. He will be truly missed. Surviving is his wife, Jamie Marcus King; children, Jack and Julie (Jonathan) and many wonderful friends. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at SLATER REGA FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 730 West Main St., Mount Pleasant, where services will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2024, with Rev Tom Shirer officiating.
