A short stretch of Golden Mile Highway in Plum has reopened after a tri-axle truck flipped on its side Thursday morning.
PennDOT reopened the section of the road between Old Frankstown and New Texas roads just before 2:30 p.m.,
Holiday Park VFD Jim Sims said the accident, which took place around 9:30 a.m., involved a tri-axle truck that was carrying coal, and another vehicle. Two people, one from each vehicle, were transported from the scene in stable condition, he said.
Crews immediately responded to the scene Thursday morning, Sims said.
“The situation was under control very quickly,” the chief said.
Plum Police will investigate the cause of the crash, according to Sims.
