Howard Grove was born on October 31, 1931, to James Grove and Hazel Carson Grove in Pittsburgh. He graduated from Peabody High School and Duquesne University. Howard is survived by his beloved wife, Nora (Strunk) Grove, to whom he was married for 62 years; children, John Grove and Janet Miller (Donald); three grandchildren, DJ Miller, Callie, and Carson Grove. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rev. James Grove and John Grove. Howard served during the Korean War and attained the rank of Sergeant. He worked for Westinghouse, in the nuclear division, for 41 years as a planning engineer. After retiring, Howard worked for the Norwin School District and D&G Auto Auction. He was an active Christian, having served on many church boards. He was a current member of the Alliance Church in North Huntingdon and belonged to their Keenager group. Howard was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a former Vice President of the White Oak Rod and Gun Club, and former Trap Team and Skeet Shooter. He also belonged to the Rosedale Gun Club where he was a Pistol Team Member. Howard served as an Assistant Scout Master and was awarded the Scout Order of the Arrow. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the JAMES W. SHIRLEY FUNERAL HOME, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. with interment to follow in Penn Lincoln Cemetery.
