Rebecca S. Demi, 96, of Greensburg, died peacefully Sunday, April 14, 2024, at St. Anne Home, with her daughter by her side. She was born in Tarentum, on Feb. 11, 1928. She was the daughter of the late F. Liggett Sefton and Sarah D. Sefton. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ralph 'Jiggs' Demi, Jr. on April 7, 2008; and son-in-law, Thomas E. Testa on October 31, 2018. Becky graduated from Tarentum High School in 1945 and was employed by Barclay Westmoreland Bank, until her marriage to Jiggs in 1949. She was the last living charter member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and sang in the choir for many years. She was also the last living member of the original 'Eastwood neighborhood family.' She was a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Mobile for more than 15 years. She also was a volunteer at Westmoreland Hospital for 40 years, starting in 1965, and was a member and officer of Unit 9 of the hospital auxiliary for many years. She served as Chairman and Coordinator of the Westmoreland County Parkinson's Disease Support Group. She is survived by her children, Ralph F. 'Fritz' Demi, David S. Demi (Penny), Samuel L. Demi (Judy), and Amy D. Testa; grandchildren, Amy Demi Gottron, Jared C. Demi, and Dara Demi Levine; great-grandchildren, Christian Petroy, Vienna Demi, and twins, Alexa and Avery Levine. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a heartfelt 'thank you' to St. Anne Home and the nurses and aides on Villa Elizabeth for the wonderful, compassionate care of our Mother. Also, many thanks to Heartland Hospice for their great compassionate care, as well. There will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 501 Fairfield Drive, Greensburg.
