John 'Jack' Jeffries, 93, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024, at Victoria House at Spring House Estates in Everett, PA. He was born in Oakmont, PA on Sept. 9, 1930 to Ernest and Edith Alice Jeffries. At age 10, he moved to Pottsville, PA. After high school, he attended Penn State University to study Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation, he entered service in the US Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant. After a two-year tour, he began his career with Alcoa Aluminum Company. He retired from there in 1985. In 1951, he met Mary Jane Corrado from Schuylkill Haven, PA and married her in 1953. They were blessed with five children: Jane, Bill, Barbara, John, and Brian. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by sons-in-law Santiago Labrador and Robert Hartman and daughters-in-law Valerie Jeffries, Marybeth Jeffries, and Heather Jeffries. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Jack loved spending time with his family and close friends. He had decades of good memories from countless camping trips, adventures around the world, and family get-togethers. All those memories are documented in the thousands of photographs and daily diaries he maintained over a period of 60 years. Those pictures and diary entries will be cherished by his family for the rest of their lives. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Lower Burrell, PA from 1967 to his passing. He made many friends by singing in the church choir for over 45 years. Jack was a soft-spoken man yet very kind and generous. He loved Mary Jane dearly the entire 71 years they were married. He was an excellent father and grandfather who led more by example than words. He will be greatly missed. Friends will be received Monday from 5-7 p.m. at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Rd. at Alder St. where Prayers of Transfer will be said Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church, 3055 Leechburg Rd.
