Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins goaltender Ludovic Waeber has signed a two-year contract with EHC Kloten of Switzerland’s National League.
That team announced the signing via a release on Friday.
A native of Switzerland, Waeber is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent with regards to his NHL rights on July 1.
The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired Waeber and a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2025 in a trade March 8 from the Florida Panthers in exchange for goaltender Magnus Hellberg.
Following the transaction, Waeber appeared in four games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and posted a 3-1-0 record, a 1.78 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.
Waeber, 27, is in the final weeks of a one-year, two-way NHL contract with a salary cap hit of $950,000. He is one of 16 players signed to NHL contracts with the Pittsburgh Penguins who are scheduled to become free agents this upcoming offseason.
