Visitors to Marshall, via roadway or website, may have noticed a new, updated look. A revamped logo of an orange-hued sun rising above the words "Marshall Township,” now in blue, can be seen on environmental signage throughout the municipality. And web users can enjoy scrolling through an updated site at www.twp.marshall.pa.us. The new branding was recommended in the current township comprehensive plan, said Julie Bastianini, manager for Marshall. "A recommendation of the 2022 comprehensive plan for Marshall Township was to refresh the township’s brand identity and communications in order to elevate community pride for residents and convey a sense of place for the township,” she said. Changes to the township’s website. which last was updated six years ago, are intended to enhance the user experience. "The updates to the website should make it easier for residents to find township news and trending topics, and streamline the process for renting park facilities and registering for Marshall’s recreational programs. It’s a more intuitive, user-friendly design,” Bastianini said. Marshall worked on the new look with brand design agency Wall-to-Wall Studios in Pittsburgh and with CivicPlus for the website. In February 2023, the township issued a request for proposals for a comprehensive brand identity package. Wall-to-Wall was approved unanimously by the board of supervisors that April after submitting a cost proposal of $48,400. That included more than just the logo design but a total comprehensive brand identity package, Bastianini said. Wall-to-Wall Studios’ work included brand identity for all township communications: logo, tagline, visual toolkit of color palettes, fonts and typography, guidelines for digital and social media use of the brand components, and a detailed implementation plan, according to Wall-to-Wall Studios. The cost of the township website was $10,447, with $3,390 dedicated for the recreation page, as designated in Marshall’s 2024 budget. Natalie Beneviat is a Trib Total Media contributing writer.
