Harry H. Smith, 89, of Allegheny Township, passed away on Friday, Aug. 23, at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. Harry was born in Parks Township, PA on March 25, 1935, a son of the late Mary Jane (Klingensmith Smith) Schriver and Robert Smith. Harry served his country in the Army Reserves after the Korean War. He worked as a supervisor for NUMEC in Apollo for 20 years and then as a technician in the tech center at Alcoa in New Kensington for 15 years before retiring. He was a former member of Hebron Lutheran Church in Leechburg and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 577 in Leechburg. Harry enjoyed reading and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley Jean (Younkins) Smith, and a son, Mark (Anita) Smith, of Erie, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather John E. Schriver, his brothers Robert Smith and Wilbert Smith, and his step-brothers Edward Schriver and James Schriver.
