Edward Michael Pytlak, 64, of Tarrs, passed away Sept. 11, 2024, at Independence Health System in Greensburg. After many years of health problems, Ed is no longer suffering and is at peace. He has moved on to eternal life with the Lord. Ed was born May 6, 1960, a son of the late Edward and Michaeline Kramarski Pytlak. He was also preceded in death by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Ed will be deeply missed by his loving sisters, Karen Pytlak (boyfriend Dennis Wolozsnowicz) and Joanne (Bob) Vella); as well as Uncle Stanley "Fettie" Kramarski, Aunt Pat and Uncle Bob Fada and Aunt Emily Stiltenpole. His very close friends, Geri, Karen, and Sandi, who were like sisters to him; and close friends, Bill, Bob, Ronnie, and Tom; as well as many cousins and friends. Ed attended Transfiguration Grade School, Geibel High School, and graduated from Pitt of Greensburg, with a BS degree in business. Growing up, he worked at his Uncle's gas station, K Brothers, in Everson for many years. While working as a customer service representative for UPS, he experienced renal failure as he had been a diabetic since age 16. After being on dialysis for two years, at the age of 35, he was fortunate enough to receive a kidney and pancreas transplant. One of Ed's favorite hobbies was designing and creating landscapes of model trains. This provided him with hours of pleasure and satisfaction. Growing up, he always had a strong love for all animals. Watching and feeding the birds and deer was one of his favorite pastimes. During his lifetime, Ed rescued many dogs and cats, especially after he talked his sisters into opening Woodland Country Kennel. What was supposed to be a Boarding Kennel for dogs and cats when people went on vacation started out as being a rescue for the many dogs and kittens that people dropped off near the Kennel. The strays never stopped showing up, and he never turned anyone away. His heart was so full of compassion for all. They must have known that he would take them in and care for them. Having the Kennel was a great joy in Ed's life. For the 15 years that Ed cared for the Kennel, he made many friends, both two and four legged. Ed is now reunited with his furry children as well as all the pets that he loved and cared for that have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. His dogs, Chip, Foxy, Smokey, Shyla, Abbey, Rebel, Kayla, Norm, Beare, Maddie, Cody, and Pupz; and his cats, Gracie, Mittens, Nemo, Louie I, and II, Bo, Bubbles, Twixie, and Tilt. He leaves behind his beloved dog, Rosie; and cats, Larry and Happy. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m., Friday, in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mount Pleasant, PA. where a Blessing Service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m., in Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Mount Pleasant. Interment will follow in the Transfiguration Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations to be made to your favorite charity in loving memory of Ed.
