Barbara J. Seddon Cady, 87, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024. She was born Oct. 30, 1936, in Vandergrift, PA, daughter of the late Howard and Anne (Hileman) Painter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Cady. She graduated from Kiski Area High School and continued her education at Edinboro University and Indiana University, where she earned a bachelor's and master's degrees. Barbara was a lifelong educator, teaching elementary and secondary education at Syracuse, NY, Youngstown, NY, and Utica, NY, and, finally, at Franklin Regional School District, where she taught for nearly 30 years. She continued her career well after retirement as a substitute teacher. She is survived by her children, Kirk (Tammy) Seddon, Michael (April) Seddon, LeeAnne (Bruce Trojan) Seddon, and Shelby (Glenn) Wilson; sister, Viola Ann 'Vianne' Medice; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her devoted partner of 12 years, Robert 'Bob' DiCicco. Barbara will be remembered as a sweet, hard-working, and intelligent woman, wife, and mother. She was an avid reader and loved to learn and teach. She attended Cornerstone Ministries and Christ Lutheran Church. Honoring her wishes, a celebration of life will be held for the family at a time to be determined.
