Michael J. Ulishney, 84, of Marguerite, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, at his home. He was born June 24, 1939, in Latrobe, a son of the late Michael and Mary Elizabeth (Surofsky) Ulishney. He was a graduate of Latrobe High School, Class of 1957, and prior to retirement worked for Bruce Marsteller Painting, and previously at Latrobe Die Casting. Mike was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Marguerite, First Catholic Slovak Union and past member of Hecla Sportsmen's Club and the former Trauger Firemen's Club. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening and the outdoors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy P. (Narduzzi) Ulishney; an infant son, Michael Anthony; a granddaughter, Samantha E. Stas; his brother, Thomas Ulishney; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Kmetz; and three sisters-in-law, Dolores Backes, Diane Campbell and Linda Santone. He is survived by two daughters, Sandy Fedor and husband, Tom, and Elaine Stas and husband, Bill, all of Unity Township; two sons, Michael Ulishney and wife, Wendy, of Greensburg, and Bob Ulishney and wife, Lisa, of Pleasant Unity; five grandchildren, Laura Baker and husband, David, Elizabeth Stas, Emily Vasilko and husband, Andy, Rob Ulishney and wife, Kaitlynn, and Molly Joshua and husband, Manny; and six great-grandchildren, Sydney, David, Addison, Noah, Tritt Michael and Kobe; two sisters, Patricia Murtha, of Mt. Pleasant, and Dolores Mehalic and husband, Thomas, of Marguerite; two sisters-in-law, Jane Lawrence, of Brookville, and Judy Ulishney, of Marguerite; a brother-in-law, Larry Campbell, of Latrobe; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Benedict Catholic Church, Marguerite, with the Rev. Daniel L. Blout, as celebrant. Please go directly to the church.
