Thomas Edward Icardi, 81, of North Huntingdon, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024. He was born Dec. 25, 1942, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Leo E. and Sarah H. (Black) Icardi. He grew up in East McKeesport, and went to work at the age of 11 for his father's business, Century Construction. He was a loving father and grandfather, who dedicated his life to family, and was always willing to help anyone in need. Thomas was an Army veteran and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 37 years, where he was known as 'Ike'. He was a member of American Legion, Post 701, White Oak, and enjoyed fishing, especially trips to Canada and New York. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Ablauf) Icardi; daughter, Carla Icardi Powell of North Huntingdon; grandsons, Anthony Powell (Haley Brunner) of Baden, and Nick (Ashley) Powell of West Newton; great-grandsons, Nickolas Jr. and Kameron Powell; brother, James (Sherry) Icardi of Boca Raton, FL; nieces, Lea (Michael) Bayer and Heather (Scott) Edward; brothers and sister-in-law, Alvin (Janet) Ablauf, Regina Ablauf, and Gary Ablauf; also nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. A Blessing Service will be held at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
