Helen L. (Miller) Patterson, 89, of Latrobe, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, at Greene Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Aug. 1, 1935, in Greensburg, she was a daughter of the late Robert S. and Frances L. (Jellison) Miller. Helen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Latrobe, and its WELCA Quilting Guild, who donates quilts to Westmoreland Children First, TLC House, Union Mission, and to others in need. She also participated in sewing projects for Faith in Action. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Latrobe Area Hospital. She was a graduate of Derry Township High School. Helen enjoyed cooking, cross stitch, embroidery, quilting, and word search puzzles. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred K. Patterson Sr.; one sister, Catherine Pelar; and three brothers, Eugene, Robert, and Gerald Miller. Helen is survived by one son, Fred K. Patterson Jr., and his wife, P.J. Lyon-Patterson, of Berlin, MD; one daughter, Sandy Torrero, and her husband, John, of Latrobe; four grandchildren, Johnny Torrero, Josh Torrero (Renee), Jessica Torrero (Christian Jensen), and Jarrett Patterson (Juliana); and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, aides, and staff at Greene Health and Rehabilitation Center and Bridges Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, at the LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, in the funeral home, with the Trinity Clergy officiating. Interment will follow at Unity Cemetery.
