Catherine M. "Kay" (Dunlap) Shaw, 83, of Latrobe (Unity Township), passed away Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at home. She was born May 9, 1940, in Latrobe, to the late Bovard E. and Catherine E. (Roble) Dunlap. She was a retired pharmacy technician for Westmoreland Hospital and clerk for Abbey's Hallmark Shop. Kay was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and her real joy in life was taking care of her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Shaw Sr. in 2014. Kay is survived by her four children Robert A. Shaw Jr. (Deborah), Marlene A. Wasnesky (Matthew), Deborah Rose, Beth Ann Hamerski (James); 11 grandchildren, B.J. (Robyn), Christi (Tim), Megan (Chris), Kayla, Michael (Angela), Andrew, Chelsey, Carly (Dylan), Nicholas, Connor, Lex; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley A. Citrone; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. Additional visitation in the funeral home will be Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, with Pastor Bill Schaefer officiating.
