John W. George Jr., 88, of New Kensington, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday April 28, 2024, in Quality Life Services, Worthington. He was born in Springdale, on Sept. 21, 1935, to the late John W. George Sr. and Margaret Conway George and has been a resident of New Kensington for the past 28 years, having previously residing in Treasure Lake and DuBois. Mr. George was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Salina Bible Church, Salina. He worked as an industrial electrician for Glenshaw Glass for 37 years until retiring in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois C. Cope George, two sons Mark (JoAnn) George of Lower Burrell, and John R. (Diane) George of Tarentum, daughter Karen (Ted) Beatty of Elderton, twelve grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren, siblings Elizabeth Sowers of Erie, Sally (Marshall) Truax of Springdale, Donna (Pete) Alcorn of Cheswick, Charles (Carol) George of O'Steen, FL. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Mary Shoop, Sharon Konesky, and great grandson Lukas Marsh. Friends will be received Wednesday from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Rd. at Alder St. where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. by Pastor Paul Reiner.
