Barry Edwin Harr, 70, of Ligonier, left us suddenly to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 22nd, 2024. Barry was born on December 14, 1953, in Ligonier, PA to Eleanor (Umbaugh) Crawford. He was a 1971 graduate of Ligonier Valley High School. Barry earned an associate degree from Triangle Tech in 1990. He had worked as an assembly technician at the former Volkswagen plant, was a co-owner (with his wife) of Big Pap's Family Restaurant, as an assembly technician at the Sony Plant, and at Ligonier Valley Real Estate, Howard Hanna, Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. He was currently the Pastor for Ligonier Valley Bible Church. Barry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather above all things. His love of Jesus, his church, and his family, made him the best possible example to everyone he met. Barry loved to golf. He was ready to meet the Lord as he realized his dream of beating his son-in-law, Keith, at 9 holes of golf on August 8, 2024. Barry loved to spend his days in the sun at the beach or poolside. His favorite color was yellow. He was an avid sports fan. Always rooting for The Steelers and AlabamaRoll Tide! He also enjoyed playing bingo with his sister Patty. He was a very 'inventive' Scrabble player. His grandchildren were his greatest joy. Barry is survived by his loving wife and best friend of almost 35 years, Carolyn (Turnbull) Harr; sons, Brian Harr of Uniontown, and Donald Thiel of Ligonier; daughters, Jennifer Forrest (Clint) of Gap, PA, and Heather Straka (Keith) of Latrobe; grandchildren, Dominick, Jesse, Sydney, Wyatt, Henry, and Shepherd. Barry is also survived by three siblings, his twin brother, Larry (Debbie) Harr, Patty (Jeff) Berkey, and Tim (Barb) Harr. He had many loving nieces and nephews and the most amazing church family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor and Frank Crawford.
