Charles 'Chick' Tomey, 91, passed away on Aug. 20, 2024, at Hempfield Manor. Chick was born on Jan. 14, 1933, in Youngwood. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Jeannette. Chick is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann, of 70 years, two daughters, Virginia Meyer (Bruce) of Natrona Heights and Cynthia Wasielewski (Larry) of Greensburg and a son, William of Wilmington, North Carolina. Five grandchildren, Ryan Wasielewski (Pam) of Plum, Lauren Atkins (Jason) of Rostraver, Gregory Meyer (Jess), Jessica Von Voigt, Kristin Susa (Josh), all of Natrona Heights. Ten great-grandchildren Zachary and Owen Wasielewski, Liam and Jade Atkins, Eli and Mariah Susa, Victoria and Dominic Von Voigt, Alexander and Gabriella Meyer. Chick is survived by two sisters Veronica Bullock and Elaine Pratt of Greensburg and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, Mary, he was predeceased in death by four sisters, Martha, Helen, Margaret and Marie; and two brothers, John and David. Prior to his retirement, Chick was employed by the Elliott Company in Jeannette for 40 years, as a senior contract administrator, and was a member of the Elliott Veterans. He enjoyed tending his flower garden and working crossword puzzles. Chick served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. Family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the many nurses and aides at the Hempfield Manor, all whom he loved and knew by name.
